Running has always been a popular fitness activity among NetSuite employees. Apart from the health benefits that it offers, running is also a refreshing break from everyone’s hectic schedules. This is why last March, 100 NetSuite employees jumpstarted their day by running at the 4th American Chamber Foundation Scholarun for the benefit of the AmCham Foundation Scholarship Program.
Through NetSuite.org, the corporate citizenship arm of NetSuite, the SuiteImpact Team Manila took part in raising funds to send 100 scholars to school and help them reach their dreams. The 100 volunteers were given the option to run in three categories, namely 3k, 5k, or 10k. The event, which was held at Bonifacio Global City, was held in partnership with Chevron Philippines, Inc., Capital Power Global Ltd., Emerson Manila Shared Services, Time Depot, and UPS. Over 2,000 runners from different sectors and companies participated in the event.
Prior the race, the NetSuite employees did some warm-up exercises led by the company’s SuiteFit volunteers. SuiteClick photographers were also present to capture the employees’ winning moments while running. Foods were distributed before and after the event to ensure that the NetSuite runners are well-nourished throughout the run. After the race, all participants were gathered for the raffle, as well as awarding ceremonies.
Scholarun 2015 was indeed a great way to foster camaraderie among the employees. It was not only an office activity, but also an effective way to promote a healthy lifestyle. Best of all, it was a perfect opportunity to be of service to the underprivileged and a manifestation of NetSuite’s commitment to helping non-profit organizations.
