What is SuiteVolunteer?

SuiteVolunteers is a pro bono service campaign powered by NetSuite employees. On a quarterly basis, grantees can apply for a variety of pro bono service projects. These projects are designed to help a grantee use NetSuite software effectively. If selected, the grantee will partner with a NetSuite employee on the project. Projects take place during the quarter, and tasks are designed to take 4 to 20 hours. SuiteVolunteers projects are partnerships between the grantee and the employee volunteer where the team accomplishes a task together. The grantee manages the project and the volunteer contributes their time, talents and knowledge. Pro bono services are not a replacement for implementation services, professional services or paid consulting.

How do I ensure a successful pro bono project?

The key elements for success during SuiteVolunteers are:

  1. Apply: Make sure that you apply for projects you are most interested in receiving. Apply each quarter in order to increase your chance of receiving services.
  2. Define your Goals: In your application be sure to write down what you are hoping to achieve.
  3. Understand the Steps: What are the different steps that need to be completed to accomplish the goals of this project?
  4. Define Roles: In partnership with your volunteer, write down who is responsible for what.
  5. Prepare Supporting Materials: Put together screenshots, sample reports, anything to help the team visualize the desired end result.
  6. Make the Time: Your employee volunteer is volunteering their time, so being flexible on timeline and deadlines is important. It is critical that you have set aside time to focus on the project and work alongside your volunteer from start to completion.
